Two rescued from the water on Wednesday afternoon

Appledore inshore lifeboat was called out to rescue two people after their dinghy capsized yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon near Crow Point.

When the B class Atlantic 85 lifeboat arrived just after 1pm the crew found it tipped over, with one person in the water and floating away from the boat.

The pair were plucked from the water and one was treated for cold and water inhalation by the lifeboat crew.

They were transferred into the care of a waiting ambulance at the shore.

The rescue lasted one hour and 15 minutes.
