Appledore is getting ready for its annual carnival on Sunday (August 19).

The carnival will take place during the afternoon, with floats assembling for judging at 3pm and the carnival setting off at 4pm.

It will follow the usual route from the top of Appledore down to the Quay, towards St Mary’s Church along Torridge Road turning right into Jubilee Road.

It will then go back along Irsha Street and finish at the end of the street near St Mary’s Church.

The carnival procession is organised by Appledore Pirates.

This will include a grand prize draw with tickets available on the day.

There will be road closures during the carnival procession, and anyone wishing to come and watch can park at Skern Lodge.
