Police are looking for witnesses to a serious collision on the A399 near Blackmoor Gate between a motorcycle with a sidecar and a horsebox.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious collision on the A399 on Saturday between a motorcycle and a horse box.

The cream Vespa 125cc motorbike with sidecar was travelling in the direction of Blackmoor Gate when it was in collision with an oncoming blue horsebox at around 12.40pm.

The motorcyclist, a 39-year-old man from Bratton Flemming, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Derriford Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

The DAF rigid horsebox contained two women and one man, all from the local area. They were uninjured.

A police spokesman said: "The incident happened 500m north of the junction with the B3358, Kentisbury, North Devon.

"The weather was fine and the road surface was dry."

The Roads Policing Team is appealing for witnesses to this incident to contact them on telephone number 101 quoting log number 398 of September 23.
