Devon and Cornwall Police is appealing for witnesses of a hit-and-run incident in Braunton to come forward.
A woman was left with serious injuries and taken to Derriford Hospital after being hit by a van last night (Friday) on the A361 Exeter Road.
A police spokesman said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to a road traffic collision that occurred outside the SQ restaurant, Braunton at around 9.25pm.
“A 26-year-old female pedestrian was left injured after a small silver van struck her.
“The vehicle failed to stop and drove off in the direction of Ilfracombe where it was later located by police officers.
“The female sustained serious injuries and was taken to Derriford Hospital where she remains.
“Anyone with information is requested to call 101 and quote log 867 of November 24.”
