Police appeal for witnesses after collision on Friday at the A361 Bolham roundabout near Tiverton.

Police are appealing for witnesses after a two-car collision on the A361 Link Road which left two people in hospital.

The head-on collision between a red Skoda Fabia and blue Ford Mondeo happened at around 5.25pm on Friday at the Bolham roundabout, just before the Mill leat crossing.

The Skoda was heading from the direction of Barnstaple towards Tiverton; the Mondeo was heading in the opposite direction.

Police said it appeared the Skoda driver, a 77-year-old man from Wiltshire, appeared to have drifted across into the oncoming lane on the bend.

The Skoda was then in collision with the incoming Mondeo.

The Skoda driver suffered serious chest injuries and was taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

The front seat passenger, an 86-year-old woman, suffered a suspected fracture to her left shoulder and was taken to Derriford Hospital for treatment.

The driver of Mondeo, a 57-year-old man from Bedfordshire, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital, but has since been released.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who witnesses the collision.
