Police appeal for witnesses after teenager was assaulted twice in a week

Police are appealing for witnesses after two assaults in Bideford which are believed to be connected.

The first took place at around midnight on Thursday, June 16 near Littlejohns coal yard in Northam Road.

A 19-year-old was left with facial injuries after he was assaulted by a man described as tall, skinny, wearing black clothing and a black balaclava.

A second incident occurred with the same victim in Watkins Way at approximately 9.15am on Tuesday, June 21. On this occasion he was approached by two men, one of whom proceeded to assault the victim.

The suspect who carried out this second assault is described as being in his early 20s, five foot seven inches tall, wearing a black baseball cap with a long peak, black hooded top and black tracksuit bottoms.

He had a small light brown moustache and brown eyes with pock marked skin.

Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who saw either incident.
