Police said the offender was disturbed during a break in at Combe Martin and fled the scene, as they appeal for witnesses.

Police are appealing for information after a burglar was disturbed at a property in Combe Martin yesterday (Tuesday).

Between 4pm and 5.15pm, an unknown offender entered two homes in the vicinity of Rectory Road and Park Crescent and stole items including cash and jewellery.

But he was disturbed by one of the residents and fled the scene.

The offender was wearing a scarf over his face and may have been driving a dark-coloured saloon car parked in and around Knowle Gardens.

Police are also reminding residents to ensure that their property is secure.
