Do you enjoy being outdoors or meeting new people? If so, Wistlandpound Reservoir could be just the place for you.The Discover Wistlandpound Project is building a group of like-minded volunteers to assist with the day to day running of the popular Lake. The site has recently seen vast improvements including a new accessible round lake walk, bird hide and activity equipment along with the innovative conversion of the Linhay Barn into the Discover Wistlandpound Visitor Centre. Site manager Tom Haynes is looking for people interested in manning the visitor centre, assisting with events or becoming volunteer site wardens. Full training in the various tasks would be given and Tom would welcome anyone who has a few hours or perhaps a couple of days a month to help him make the site even more accessible to all. If you are interested in becoming a Discover WistlandpoundEasyvolunteer or would like more information, contact Tom on (01598) 763719. Wistlandpound Reservoir is near Blackmoor Gate and is an easy 20 minute car journey from Barnstaple. The Discover Wistlandpound Project is a partnership between the Calvert Trust Exmoor, the Forestry Commission England and South West Lakes Trust. The project attracted funding from a variety of bodies including Heritage Lottery Fund, Sport England, Devon Rural Renaissance and the Esmee Fairburn Trust.
