SIR - Appledore CASH (Celebrating Appledore's Shipping Heritage) will be holding their Annual General Meeting at the Seagate Hotel Restaurant on Tuesday, March 31 at 7.30pm. Everyone with an interest in and concern for Appledore's rich maritime heritage is invited to come along. Members can join on the night for �1 per annum or drop their subscription in to Docton Court Gallery at any time.Torridge District Council, English Heritage and the Government Office South West have been asked to provide up to date information on the housing development plans for Richmond Dry Dock submitted some 17 months ago but left unresolved and for a response to allowing the Grade 2*listed site to be used as a dumping ground for building waste. A response, too, has been requested from Torridge planners regarding the building on the listed site of a new "Conservatory" structure for which retrospective planning permission is now being sought. The meeting will also be asked to consider proposals for CASH to promote events during the coming Arts and Book Festivals and also at the Annual Regatta.
