THE annual open exhibition has begun at the Burton Art Gallery and Museum in Bideford.It is one of the highlights in the gallery's programme and offers local artists - amateurs and professionals - the opportunity to show off their work.Some 200 works from 50 entrants have been selected for the exhibition.Di Warmington, the Secretary of The Friends of the Burton, said: "I have been involved with the Annual Open for the last 24 years, and each year the standard of entries makes the job of selecting the final show more and more difficult."As one of the main fund-raising events organised by the Friends, all works on display are for sale. Proceeds are used by the Friends of the Burton Art Gallery for the promotion and enhancement of the Gallery.
