The event has been organised by the Slade Vision Centre Committee, working with North Devon Homes and supported by the Big Lottery Celebrate fund.

Martyn Gimber, chief executive of North Devon Homes, said "We are absolutely thrilled that Anneka Rice will be attending the Slade Silver Big Bash.

"Since the Slade Vision Centre was completed as part of the Challenge Anneka programme in 1992, it has been a fantastic asset for the community.

"It is truly fitting that Anneka is part of the celebrations 25 years later - we are delighted that she will be there to commemorate this important anniversary with local people living in the area."

Entry into the event and most activities are free with people attending also having the opportunity to enjoy some free refreshments.
