AN A to Z of animals, birds and fishes now adorns a wall of the little pre-school building at West Down. The pre-school has made the most of a £1,480 Awards for All lottery grant to complete a mural project. The project was undertaken during the half-term by the three and four-year-olds who attend there, with the help of their families and the guidance of professional mural and ceramic artist Mike Groom.Twenty-six creatures have been depicted - one for each letter of the alphabet - and also a world map to show where they come from. The mural is completed by a colourful band of "counting stars" and forms part of the pre-school's programme of educational events. The rural pre-school still has a few places available for its autumn term.
