A Bideford business has been giving back to the community with a generous donation to Northern Devon Foodbank.
Anglo dropped off boxes and bags filled with supplies at the Bideford foodbank in Pitt Lane on Wednesday after a six-week drive for donations.
Anglo’s social club chairman Neil Batty said: “We didn’t know how it would go, but people have been absolutely great, they’ve just donated and donated.
“We just wanted to do something for the community. We support the local community in projects and work experience and apprenticeships and we just wanted to give something back.
Committee member Shona Endean added: “We also know it’s not just for Christmas so we are going to carry on doing this throughout the year.”
People have until Friday, December 14, to donate festive treats in order for the foodbanks to give them out in time for Christmas.
But the charity is always in need of essential items for its emergency food parcels.
Any treats such as mince pies, tinned ham, Christmas pudding, chocolates, nibbles and more, can be donated at the Gazette offices in Barnstaple for its , Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
Alteratively, take them directly to the Foodbank: Barnstaple, at St John’s Community Centre, and Bideford, in Pitt Lane, are open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10.30am-1.30pm; Ilfracombe, at Salvation Army Community Hall, is open Tuesday and Thursday, 10.30am-1.30pm.
