YOUNG Amy Jordan has taken her love of animals to extraordinary lengths - even sacrificing her 27-inch long hair.
Amy, an 11-year-old pupil of East-the-Water School in Bideford, had never had a real haircut before she had her beautiful blonde locks cut off at The Look salon in Appledore in a charity event to raise money for the North Devon Animal Ambulance.
She has so far raised about 250.
It is hoped the hair can be put to good use, too, possibly going to a charity which makes wigs for children who have lost their own.

Mum Kerry told the Gazette that Amy had come up with the idea herself after deciding she wanted to raise money for charity.
Amy had never really had a haircut before, only the occasional trim, she said.
