Albert Clock will play part in Barnstaple celebrations

BARNSTAPLE will be ringing in the New Year in style thanks to the newly-restored chimes of the Albert Clock.
The Square will be the place to welcome in 2010 with a fantastic night of entertainment planned by the town's New Year's Eve charity events committee.
Local band Frequency will be headlining the live music stage with support from The Confused and Jonny Black.
The family-friendly party starts at 9pm and will also feature a spectacular firework display over the River Taw, being launched by Heart FM competition winner Mandy Velacott at midnight.

Revellers will then be able to dance the night away to classic party tunes by the radio station's James Chapple until 1am.
The event is being organised by volunteers and will raise money for The Samaritans.
