A man who died on the link road between Barnstaple and Bideford has been named as Andrew Scott Hamilton from Glasgow. Police said the 32-year-old died after a collision involving a white Nissan Almera at Huish Moor on the A39 at around 2.30am.

A man who died on the link road between Barnstaple and Bideford has been named as Andrew Scott Hamilton from Glasgow.

Police said the 32-year-old died after a collision involving a white Nissan Almera at Huish Moor on the A39 at around 2.30am.

Mr Hamilton sustained life threatening injuries and was taken to North Devon District Hospital where unfortunately he died a short time later.

An investigation is under way after it emerged Mr Hamilton was apparently already in an ambulance being taken to Barnstaple before the incident. He apparently left the vehicle before the collision with the car.
