THE hills around Combesland Cross reverberated to the roar of days gone by at the weekend as vintage vehicle enthusiasts met for the 16th annual South Molton Vintage Rally. The event on Saturday and Sunday featured lovingly restored cars, motorcycles, steam engines and a variety of tractors and other land-working machinery."We had a good turnout and although everywhere around us had rain, it stayed dry for us," said chairman Dave Snow. "We had exhibitors from all over the South West and further afield," he added.Club treasurer Linda Regan thanked all the volunteers for their help before, during and after the event."Without their help, there would be no vintage rally," she said.Proceeds from the event will be split between the Devon air Ambulance Trust, Exmoor Search and Rescue, and other local charities.
