EVERY ONE of Devon's 37 secondary schools will be equipped with a modern sports centre following an injection of almost 11 million in education and sports facilities by Devon County Council.Devon's Executive Committee agreed to release 10.7 million from the proceeds of the sale of Exeter Airport to develop a range of facilities across the county. The biggest sum - 3.5 million - will go towards the development of modern sports facilities for Teign School at Kingsteignton.Teign is one of only two Devon secondary schools that does not have a sports centre and 3 million has been earmarked for the development that would include indoor facilities and a number of grass pitches.Devon County Council's deputy leader and executive councillor for children's services, John Smith, said: "This is another excellent series of examples of the county council using its resources to help stimulate the economy."This comes on top of our 180 million building programme for schools, children's centres and youth facilities and our bid to the Government to bring forward up to 800 million of investment in our secondary schools..
