People in the town invited to see what’s on offer at the centre, which has been saved from closure by YMCA Exeter.

South Molton’s ‘new-look’ youth resource centre is being officially relaunched tomorrow (Saturday).

A free family fun day is being held at the youth centre in Mill Street, which only opened in 2011 but was threatened with closure by Devon County Council in March last year.

Charity YMCA Exeter, which signed a lease to take on the centre in May this year, is inviting people in the town to learn more about the services on offer.

The centre has undergone changes and is now available for the whole community to hire and use for groups, activities, sport, parties and meetings.

Gareth Sorsby, YMCA community projects manager, said: “We have been welcomed into the South Molton community and are excited to have fun with local families at the centre.

“We are really looking forward to the day which will offer lots of fun and games for the whole family.”

The youth centre will be open to people on Saturday from 11am to 3pm as part of its re-launch.

Free and ‘pocket-money-priced’ activities will include a bouncy castle, face painting, sport, games, music, cakes and crafts.
