A 27-year-old Barnstaple man will appear before North Devon Magistrates this morning (Wednesday) after being charged with assault by beating.
Craig Lethaby was arrested at a house in Bickington Road, Sticklepath, following a long stand-off with police yesterday afternoon.
Armed response police officers were called following reports of a domestic situation but Lethaby gave himself up and was taken into custody.
