A 20-year-old man has been arrested following an incident involving an axe in Holsworthy.
Police were called out after a man was reported to have been in possession of an axe at around 2.50pm yesterday (April 30).
The man was located near North Road at around 6.30pm and arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and affray. He was taken into police custody to be questioned.
A police spokesman said: “During this incident, it is believed that the man has caused criminal damage to a property in the area, but no-one has been reported to have been injured.
“Armed police attendance with support from the NPAS helicopter and searches we undertaken in an effort to locate the man in question.
“At around 6.30pm, a 20-year-old man was located near North Road and arrested without further incident, on suspicion of causing criminal damage and affray.
“Police enquiries continue into this matter and we would like to thank the public for their assistance during this incident.”
