12 years for man found guilty of manslaughter

Jury cleared businessman of murder at Exeter Crown Court on Thursday.

A BUSINESSMAN who shot dead his estranged wife at their home in Parracombe has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

David Leeman, 60, was convicted of manslaughter yesterday (Thurs) at Exeter Crown Court after a jury cleared him of murder.

He denied murdering his wife Jennie Leeman, 44, in September last year at Higher Cowley Farm in Parracombe.

He was also sentenced to a further five years to run concurrently after admitting possessing an illegal firearm.
