New home for Westward Ho! Post Office

Westward Ho! Post Office will reopen in the New Year at a brand new site on Golf Links Road, with daily opening times of 7am – 10pm, adding up to 105 hours of Post Office service a week.Â

Service will be restored on Friday, 21 January, 2022 at 1pm. In the meantime, the nearest branches are at Northam, Appledore and Bideford.Â

The opening hours for Westward Ho! will be Monday - Sunday: 7am – 10pm. This will offer 105 hours of Post Office service a week, which will make it very convenient to visit. A Post Office counter will be situated alongside the retail counter of the convenience store.Â

The previous branch at 23-25 Nelson Road, Westward Ho!, Bideford, EX39 1LQ closed in August 2021.  Â

Post Office Partner Account Manager, Mike Ball, said: “We are delighted to soon be restoring Post Office service to Westward Ho! as we know how important a Post Office is to a community.Â

“We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible, so we have decided to go ahead with our plans.  Â

“We would welcome feedback on access into and within the branch. The opportunity to give feedback will close on 7 January, 2022. Customers can share their views during the consultation online at www.postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 595519.Â

To enter the new premises, customers will have a wide automatic door with level access at the entrance via a ramp with a handrail. Customers will exit the new premises via steps or a ramp with a handrail. Internally, there will be a hearing loop and space for a wheelchair.Â

Getting thereÂ

The new branch will be located approximately 60 metres away from the previous branch. AÂ Pay & Display car park is available nearby with designated disabled parking.Â

The new Post Office will provide a wide range of services, making life that little bit easier for the people of Westward Ho!Â
