Andrew Williams, a member of Braunton and the North Devon Scout Target Clubs has been asked to trial for the National Scout Shooting Team following his performance at the Scout National Rifle Championships.

This brings Braunton’s total to nine junior shooters in various national squads, showing the depth of talent to be found in North Devon.

Braunton TSC had mixed success in round two of the County Lightweight Sporting Rifle League with Braunton B beating Tavistock 479-46, but Braunton A beaten by Pinhoe 540-544.

Libby Johnson, the club’s leading junior pistol shooter, scored another personal best to lead the Braunton A 20-yard pistol team to a win over Budleigh, keeping them second in the league.

Despite a strong showing from the Braunton B team, including junior pistol shooter Ryan Hough, they lost to Okehampton by five points 456 – 461 to leave them third in the division.
