Proposals for new Barnstaple store to be unveiled at exhibition next week

PLANS for a proposed new Morrisons supermarket at Pottington, first revealed by the Gazette last November, will go on show to the public at a consultation exhibition on February 4 and 5.

Liberty Properties plc and Morrisons are keen to seek the views and reaction of local people to their plans that would see a new supermarket and petrol filling station built on the current Evans Transport site. Evans Transport is concentrating its business, with no job losses, on its Bideford premises.

The exhibition will be held at The Guildhall on Friday, February 4 from 10am-6pm and the following day from 1oam-4pm.

Paul Temple of developers Liberty Properties, the company behind the plans said: “We hope lots of people come and see the plans, prior to the submission of a planning application, as the opinions of local people are important to us and will help us finalise our scheme.”
