Molton too close for comfort

SOUTH Molton stay too close for comfort to the Devon One drop zone after going down 22-12 to new leaders Wessex.

A three-try first half performance helped Wessex move back to the top of Devon One and left their hosts just two points away from the bottom two.

Wessex’s points all came in the first half and despite the best efforts of the home side in the second period those points proved to be enough for victory.

Dan Smith crossed twice for Molton with Steve Ayres kicking one conversion

TORRINGTON’S game against Stithians was called off as the Cornish outfit were unable to raise a side for the trip to Donnacroft. Ilfracombe had no first-team game on Saturday.
