Mediocre summer for target shooters

Joseph Bulmer

THE final results of the National League summer season make rather mediocre reading for Bideford Rifle Club’s three teams.

Although two of the three improved slightly on their starting positions in the respective divisions, the best result was still only a third place in Division 4 for Bideford A, who won six of their 10 matches.

The B team finished fourth in Division 10 after starting sixth, with four wins, two draws and four defeats from their season.

The C team had the most difficult time, starting and finishing in fifth place, with just three wins in all.

Final rounds results: Round 9 - Bideford A 1,944 beat Faversham 1,941; Bideford B 1,888 beat Colchester B 1,867; Bideford C 1, 844 beat Alloa & District 1,474. Round 10 - Bideford A 1,916 lost to Jersey Outdoor 1,940; Bideford B 1,913 beat Horsham 1,910; Bideford C 1,493 lost to Banchory 1,883.
