Maximums not enough

ROUND 13 of the Devon Winter Shooting League was unlucky for Bideford A team, who were beaten despite maximum 100 scores by two of its members.

With Pete Thomson and Martin Morgan both having perfect scores the five-strong team set the second highest total in their division – but for the second week running came up against opponents who registered the top total.

There were mixed results for the Bideford teams in the latest two rounds of the county competition, but Bideford B and C teams currently both still lead their divisions, with five rounds left to go.

The North Devon League brought better success for Bideford, with the eight wins, one draw and only one defeat for the five teams in their latest two rounds.

The A team remains top of Division 1, with the B team sixth. The C team is third in Division 2, with the D team bottom. And the E team in second in Division 3.
