Marathon runner goes ‘quackers’

A man from Bideford is running the London Marathon is a quirky costume to raise money for Children’s Hospice South West

A MAN from Bideford will be running the London Marathon for Children’s Hospice South West with a twist some might consider a bit ‘quackers’.

Rob Floyd, from Bideford, has taken inspiration from Little Bridge House mascot Star, an Indian runner duck, and will be taking on the marathon dressed as a duck.

Rob, 45, has run the marathon over 20 times, twice for CHSW, and is looking for help sourcing an appropriate duck costume.

He said: “If there is anyone out there willing to help by making or donating such an item, I would love to hear from you. To see an Indian Runner duck moving at top speed is a sight to keep everyone laughing; I hope to emulate this at the Marathon but can’t do it without the costume.”

Rob will be running the marathon with his girlfriend Maxine Heard and sister Katherine Floyd, both novice participants.
