Lots of ways to support the Chemotherapy Appeal

Get involved and help take the appeal towards its target

AMONG the events taking place in aid of the Chemotherapy Appeal this month is a race night at the Ring O’ Bells pub at Landkey on Friday night.

The event is being held by the Bosom Buddies; for more information contact landlord Chris Wingham on (01271) 830364.

Next Wednesday (April 20), two South Molton choirs are getting together for the first time to hold a special cancer in aid of the appeal.

The South Molton Choral Society and South Molton Circuit Choir will be performing together at a “Celebration of Easter” concert at the Duke Street Methodist Church on from 7.30pm.

Tickets are �5 each and are available from South Molton Tourist Information Centre, North Molton Post Office or choir members. Alternatively, telephone the post office on (01598) 740404 or Jean Blake on (01769) 572200.

Next month, there’s a “vintage gathering”, auto jumble and car boot sale at North Heale, Ashreigney, on Saturday, May 14.

A barbecue and evening entertainment will be provided in the barn from 6.30pm and camping will be available. For more information, contact Derek Turner on (01769) 520286 or 07771 738212.

Sponsored tandem skydive events are scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 2 and Saturday, October 1 and a fun day and race night is being held at Barum Gate, Barnstaple, on Saturday, August 20.

The fund-raising team at the hospital is also urging runners to help make a difference by taking part in the 2011 Bristol Half Marathon in aid of the appeal on Sunday, September 1.
