Thousands donate boxes for needy children around the world
Around 3,000 shoeboxes have been collected in North Devon to bring a little light on Christmas Day for needy children across the world.
Grosvenor Church in Barnstaple was the collection point for this year's Samaritan's Purse shoebox appeal for Operation Christmas child.
Volunteers have been busy packing the boxes with goodies and gifts for poverty-stricken children and would like to say a big 'thank you' to everyone who put boxes together with such care and attention.
Volunteer Tracey Owen said it had been another good year for the appeal: "We are always encouraged by the amount of boxes that come in," she said.
"It reaches out into the community and for children and adults it is an opportunity to think of others at Christmas time."
