The unmistakable sound of Christmas carols filled the pannier market on Thursday as hundreds of people flooded in to the traditional Barnstaple Christmas fayre.
Fayre-goers enjoyed the performance from pupils of Pilton Bluecoats school and town councillors which opened proceedings on the night.
Santa even made an appearance to hand out sweets as visitors perused the 70 festive stalls, selling gorgeous gifts, Chrimbo crafts and festive food.
Many of the shops around town also stayed open as Barnstaple was gripped by festive fever.
