AS their two main rivals fought out a draw, Torrington A chalked up another 10-pointer to increase their lead at the top of the North Devon Table Tennis League to 15 points.
Ben Taylor continues to impress for Torrington and reserve Peter Grant scored a triple against Castle Knights, who are struggling to pick up points.
Smugglers and Misfits played out a tight draw, all games going to four sets or more. Martyn Beer won three for the Misfits, but it was not quite enough to ensure success as Smugglers clinched the draw with a win in the doubles
Division 2 Herons continued their unbeaten run at the expense of previously unbeaten Malcolm Overson, who was defeated first by Robin Gale and then by Sue Overton as they flew to a 9-1 victory to extend their lead to 14 points.
Another big win in this division was by the youngsters of Torrington B. Tim Strand and Nathan Sussex were unbeaten as Hopefuls went down 9-1. Ellis Ellington also helped himself to a couple for the Torrington team.
