ILFRACOMBE old boys took on their current day counterparts at Killacleave on Saturday - and ran out winners by 24 runs.

Paul Jaggers (54) led the way and with Haden Keeton (37no), Gordon Lawson (20) and Jason Newman (17no) adding impetus at the end, the old boys finished their 40 overs on 188 for 6.

Mark Creek (29) and Ryan Woodger (37) got the younger players off to a flier, reaching 72-1 after 10 overs. Mark Cavanagh (43) kept the runs flowing - until Bob Hancock was introduced to the attack. The pace may have slowed, but the accuracy is still there and he finished with 3-17, including the wicket of Cavanagh to a stunning running catch off a skier by skipper Dave Hart.

The current team were finally bowled out for 164.
