Nothing is too much trouble for ‘gentleman’ Bob.

I would like to nominate Bob Cobley’s newsagent shop in Pilton Street. Nowhere else have I received such a cheerful, gracious, humorous and helpful welcome.

Absolutely nothing is too much trouble to Bob; and, of course, he’s immensely popular – a real Pilton treasure.

George Bernard Shaw wrote that ‘A gentleman is one who puts more into the world than he takes out’, and by that token alone Bob is a true gentleman.

Remiss of me not to mention that in the shop sign ‘R & M Cobley’ the ‘M’ stands for Bob’s supportive wife Maggie - usually in the background but so obviously a vital and valuable part of the business.
