Last chance to nominate deserving individual for this month’s Love Thy Neighbour Award.

THERE is still time to nominate your local unsung heroes for a special North Devon community award.

Between July and September the North Devon Gazette is joining forces with Bideford estate agent J Cowlings to honour remarkable people whose good deeds often go unnoticed.

Bideford First Responder David Francis was awarded the July Love Thy Neighbour Award and we want to hear about similar examples of stoic community endeavour.

If you know of someone who asks for the least credit but deserves the highest of praise then write to us with your nomination before Wednesday, August 22.

Gazette editor Andy Keeble said: “We’ve already received some stirring tales of selfless dedication to community causes but there is still time to nominate someone for this month’s award.

“Perhaps you have a friend who gives up their time to care for others, or a neighbour who takes so much pride in your street that they always make sure it is tidy.

“Maybe there is a member of your family who other people can turn to for help. Whatever the story we’d like you to tell us about it.”

If you would like to nominate a neighbour, friend, family member or colleague for the fantastic work that they do, please email newsdesk@northdevongazette.co.uk telling us why your nominee deserves to be recognised.

Alternatively you can drop your nomination into the Gazette office in Old Station Road, Barnstaple.

Please include your name and address and daytime contact telephone number.
