Bella the missing collie has been joyfully reunited with her owners after six weeks. Hundreds of people have helped in the search since the border collie went missing from Bideford Bay Holiday Park at Bucks Cross on August 27 while owners Matt and Karina Lovering were on holiday. The Wiltshire couple had travelled to North Devon most weekends in the search for their pet, joined by numerous volunteers following the creation of a Facebook group called Please Help Find Bella, which attracted 1,100 members. There were several sightings but Bella was nervous and stayed away from people. Matt told the Gazette she was finally caught following a sighting on Monday. Searcher Rhoni Elmore and her team laid a blood trail leading to a humane trap and yesterday morning the good news came back that Bella was inside. I would like to thank Rhoni and her team, said Matt. They worked day and night to get her back and we are extremely grateful for all they have done. Bella was checked over by a vet and pronounced fine, though a little underweight. Matt said she had been a but uncertain initially: At first she growled at us a little but after five minutes she started whining and crying, jumping all over us and licking us, he said. After a night back home he said had settled like she had never been away and was following them everywhere. The Facebook group has now changed its name to Welcome Home Bella.
