A 50-year-old man has appeared in court today (Monday) charged with the murder of a 39-year-old man in Barnstaple.
Kevin Gale, who is also known as Kevin Maloney, has been charged with the murder of Lee Richard Turner.
Mr Turner suffered multiple stab wounds during an incident by the Tesco Extra store on the Barnstaple Retail Park on Station Road on Friday evening at 6.20pm.
Gale, from Barnstaple, made a three minute appearance before Exeter magistrates where he also faced a second charge of possessing a knife in a public place.
The magistrates remanded him in custody to appear before a Crown Court judge in Exeter tomorrow (Tuesday) morning.
Detectives are still appealing for anyone with information to come forward quoting log number 908 of August 3rd.
