Girls start their cricket campaign

NORTH Devon District Girls cricket and Tarka Ladies CC training begins again this month.

Girls from school Year 4 and above who play for a club and enthusiastic newcomers who want to learn to play cricket to a high standard are welcomed.

The sessions are run by qualified coaches and at the end of the spring training Under 13 and Under 15 squads will be chosen to play against the other areas in Devon.

The first session is at Chulmleigh Sports Hall this Sunday from 2.30-4.30. E-mail if you will be attending. The first session will be free and the cost of the rest of the programme will follow with further details.

Tarka Ladies CC is group of girls of all ages who want to play and enjoy cricket. Many of its members already play for established league clubs and just come together to play all girls cricket.

This year, for the first time, Tarka Ladies are hoping to enter a team in the North Devon Youth League.

The district and Tarka Ladies work together and welcome any members who want to play, or have played cricket in the past, to go along to district sessions and learn the game or improve their skills.

The Devon U15 girls were National Champions in 2011 so come along and be part of this exciting adventure.
