We are lucky to host some pretty incredible summer music festivals here in North Devon, and this year is no exception. There’s a brand new music festival making its debut in North Devon this July 15th-17th. Organised by Loft Live Sessions, the two-day Funk Up The Farm Festival will take place will take place at Wright’s Farm in Kentisbury.

The festival includes an eclectic mix of funk, soul, jazz, and liquid drum and bass DJ’s and live acts, as well as some incredible circus acts, fire performers, street food and more. The lineup includes Fred V, Krafty Kuts, A.Skillz, and other festival favourites. The farm will also be adorned with festoon lights, and fire pits to help create incredible sensory experience at this multi genre event.

Sarah Lacey, director at Loft Live Sessions, says “This will be the first year that we’ll be hosting Funk Up The Farm as an official festival. But it’s the same thing that we do all over the South West, only this time we are in a big old cowshed in a field, instead of a mansion!”

“We’re a boutique festival, which means that we have a capacity of 500 people including artists and crew, so that means every element will have more of an intimate feel and there won’t be any massive queues for the loos. Plus the ticket price points are lower than at other festivals. We wanted to keep live music accessible to everyone during the cost of living crisis. We also book artists based on how talented they are. We believe in bringing new music to unexpected places, and anyone who has been to one of our events will tell you that the music is always outstanding.”

“We’ve got an incredible lineup announced for this year’s festival. One of the highlights will be the band Oh My God! It’s The Church, who are incredible. They were described by Craig Charles as “a firm favourite” because they put on a show like no other. They were nominated for Best Live Act Of The Year by the 2017 Festival Congress Awards. They bring high energy to festivals across the UK, including Glasto! I can’t think of a better festival band. Sam Redmore and the Tropical Sound Clash Allstars are also on my firm list of favourites. We can’t wait to showcase them in the South West.”
