SIR - With reference to the Combe Martin Parish Church Open Gardens weekend recently I am pleased to report that well over �800 has been raised for the church funds.

On behalf of the committee I thank you for your interest and help in keeping this event in the public eye and wish to thank all those who generously supported us, gardeners and public alike.

We did, as in previous years, welcome people from near and far to enjoy our village gardens and know that many find their information of the event through your print.

Once again, thank you to all those who supported us and helped to raise money on the day.
