South Molton’s Christmas lights switch on event on Friday (November 28) has been hailed as the ‘busiest ever’.
Crowds packed into the town centre to enjoy the early evening festive atmosphere alongside live music, more than 50 stalls and plenty of street foods to enjoy.
The lights were officially switch on by BBC Radio Devon presenter John Acres and there was music from local singer songwriter Sam Dowden.

Representatives from South West Blood Bikes took to the stage to publicly thank Arthur and TJ Murch for a 10 mile bike ride from Torrington to Instow, raising £1,455 for their vital charity.

The Pannier Market was bustling with stalls as people browsed for festive gifts, with more of the same this Friday (December 5) as the town gears up for its popular Winter Wonderland event.

South Molton Town Council took to Facebook the next day to say: “Our Christmas light switch on last night was the busiest one we’ve ever had, and the energy was unbelievable.”
