The streets of Appledore were alive with colour and excitement on Sunday, August 11, as the much-anticipated Appledore Carnival took place, hosted by the Appledore Pirates.

The day began with carnival registrations at 3pm at Staddon Road, followed by judging at 3.30pm.
Participants of all ages took to the streets at 4pm in a lively procession, showcasing their creativity and festive spirit.
The parade featured various categories, including Walking Juniors, Walking Seniors, Family, Business/Pub/Restaurant, Performing Arts, Senior Float, and Junior Float.

The festivities continued with an after-party featuring a BBQ at The Seagate, where attendees enjoyed delicious food and great company.
The event also included a prize raffle draw with a range of incredible prizes.
All proceeds from the carnival are dedicated to supporting local initiatives, including grants for community projects, the spectacular fireworks night, a Christmas party for pensioners, and aid for local volunteer services and the local school.
