AFTER last week's cup "lesson" at the hands of Chulmleigh, Fremington got back to business in the league with a thumping 9-1 win at Chittlehampton Reserves.
Andy King hit a hat-trick and Kayne Perry, Andy Sanders and Lee Langmead all scored two each to keep Fremington on top with six wins from six.
Second-placed Barnstaple FC dropped points for only the second time of the season with a 2-2 draw against Pilton Academicals Reserves at Tews Lane.
Gary Grant opened the scoring for the Accies towards the end of a fiercely-fought first half that produced plenty of chances at both ends. Connor Nash equalised for Barum after the break and James Maynard scored from the penalty spot to give the hosts a brief lead. Pilton's Quyen Tran hit back for the visitors almost immediately to level the match.
Third-placed Bradworthy Reserves were beaten 3-1 at Anchor Chiefs. Striker Shayne Voisey got the hosts off to a good start on six minutes, a lead they doubled in the 38th minute when Trevor May's inch perfect back post cross found Ali Davidson's head.
The visitors pulled one back eight minutes into the second half but with little more than 10 minutes remaining, 16-year-old left winger Liam Shaxton cut inside the defence and lifted over the keeper onto his right foot and smashed it into the back of the net.
Northside Atlantic were made to work hard to maintain their perfect start to the season when they were taken all the way by a youthful Braunton Fourths side at Lobb Field. The game finished 6-5 to Northside.
There was a good win too for South Molton Reserves, who overcame Northam Lions Thirds 4-2 at Burrough Farm thanks to goals by Mitchell Wensley, Simon Loosemore, Chris Dent and Birthday Boy Tom Pulford.
AFC Anchor Reserves are still without a win this season and they crashed to a 5-1 defeat at home to Bratton Fleming Reserves on Saturday. Mark Bithell, Luke Roberts, Neil Tweedie, Dale Bryant and Andrew Kellaway were on target for Bratton.
In the division's only other weekend game, Torridgeside Reserves got back to winning ways with a 4-1 win against Hartland Reserves at Donnacroft. Greg Meaker scored the only goal for Hartland.
