A free mobile phone marking service is being offered by Braunton police at locations throughout the village tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday.
All that is needed is an email address and postcode, plus details of the phone, which officers can use to create a private and secure database that other items can be added to, such as iPads and MP3 players.
Then if a phone is lost or stolen residents can immobilise it by logging on to their account, while police and insurers can use the information to help track the thief.
The free marking sessions are being held as part of a series of PACT (partners and communities together) meetings hosted by PCSOs Andy Frisby and Jo Carter.
“Residents can come along and voice any concerns they may have with any policing matters in their area,†said PCSO Frisby.
“If it’s something we can’t deal with then our partner agencies will be informed and we will follow it up for them. We will also use any concerns raised to formalise our policing priorities for that area.â€
