Saturday saw the first outing of Saunton Sands Surf Life Saving Rescue Vehicle.
The vehicle has been bought to aid lifeguard cover on Saunton Beach, which will be starting on July 24 this year and for Sundays through out the summer period.
Last Saturday the vehicle was there to support the Devon Junior and Youth Ocean Championship, which took place at Croyde Bay in near perfect conditions.
There was a slight swell and a light off-shore breeze for the competitors, aged between 13 and 19, as they undertook the ocean events, including Oceanman and lady, taplin and ski paddle races.
Results for the Ocean events in both the junior and youth sections were: 1, Woolacombe; 2, Saunton Sands; 3, Croyde; 4, Exmouth.
