The County’s Sight Loss Charity, Devon in Sight is bringing a drop in Sight Loss Technology Event to Torrington Town and Community Hall which could help anyone with sight loss by letting them try out some of the new Technology that is available to help with day-to-day living.

Sight and Sound Technology will demonstrate a wide range of equipment to help anyone with sight loss including the new OXSIGHT Onyx glasses for those with Macular Degeneration.

At a recent event in Exeter, a lady was amazed that using the OXSIGHT Glasses, she was able to see a face much more clearly and describe someone opposite her.

Judy Pride, Head of Development and Operations for Devon in Sight said: "The hairs stood up on the back of my neck when I heard this lady tell me that she could see that I was wearing a necklace and had a pearl ring on my finger. Then she went outside and could see a car at some distance and even see the registration plate.

"This lady was astonished and is now considering buying the glasses for herself."

You can go along any time between 10am and 2pm on Tuesday, August 2, and see what else is available to make life a bit easier if you or someone you know, who has lost some sight.
