Family fun in Barnstaple this half term

A free family fun day to mark Parents’ Week is being held at Victoria House Children’s Centre in Barnstaple this Tuesday (October 25.)

All Barnstaple families with children aged from birth to eight years are welcome to go along between 10am-3pm, with plenty to see and do including games, puppet making, a children’s entertainer, a professional face-painter plus a healthy lunch.

It has been organised by Action for Children, which runs the centres, together with Families Voice, its parent forum, which gives parents the opportunity to express opinions and help shape activities run by the Barnstaple Children’s Centres.

Visitors can find out more about Families Voice on the day and new recruits are welcome - no experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and a commitment to a monthly meeting, with childcare provided if required.

“It’s a great way to gain skills and confidence to prepare for getting back into work and a good place for parents and children to make new friends,” said Dawn Williams, Families Voice representative.

For information about the fun day, Families Voice or other services available at the Barnstaple Children’s Centres, call Victoria House on (01271) 321411.
