Exeter flight drama - Did wheel drop off?

As the emergency unfolded following a Flybe flight drama, there were unconfirmed reports that the aeroplane had lost a wheel.

The 12.25pm flight from Exeter to Newcastle was cut short by the pilot when he noticed there was something wrong with the undercarriage of the Bombardier Q 400.

The plane carrying 4 crew and 42 passengers circled the area to offload fuel before landing safely back at Exeter at around 2pm.

A police helicopter was deployed and roads were closed around the area.
