Dazzling daffs at Hartland Abbey

Joseph Bulmer

A dazzling display of daffs is on offer at Hartland Abbey this weekend as the attraction hosts its annual Daffodil Sunday.

A wide variety of historic daffodils, many originally planted more than a century ago, can be seen in the abbey gardens and grounds from 11am-4pm.

More recently a number of old varieties have been transplanted from the former Grenville College site. The winding paths will take visitors to an 18th century walled garden, restored Woodland Summerhouse, a cliff top gazebo and Blackpool Mill Cottage where Sense and Sensibility was filmed.

Admission is free to children and dogs, with a reduced adult price of 3.50. Soup, pasties and refreshments are available. Visit www.hartlandabbey.com or call (01237) 441264 for information.
